Abstract: Objective to find new cells with high efficiency killing activity, and to explore the feasibility and significance of umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells as LAK cell precursor cells. Methods The isolated umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells were induced by IL-2 and IL-2 IFNα, respectively, and the number of cell expansion and the killing activity of K5 62 cells were measured on d 2,4, 7,11 and 14, respectively. Results At d 11 after culture, the highest multiplication of cord blood mononuclear cells was 20 times and 25 times that of pre-culture in the two groups, respectively, and their killing activity against K5 62 was 27 times and 35 times that of the control group, respectively. Conclusion ① Umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells are good precursors of LAK cells; ② The cell number and killing ability reached the peak at d 11 in culture; ③ The cell number and killing activity of IL -2 IFN α group were better than those of IL -2 alone group.
