Abstract:Cerebral palsy (CP) is one of the diseases with the highest disability rate in children. At present, there is no specific drug to cure CP at home and abroad. Scholars agree that the cause of CP is the damage of neural stem cells (NSCs) in the subventricular zone (SVZ), and the degree of damage of NSCs ultimately determines the prognosis of children with CP. Therefore, it is possible to restore the structure and function of the damaged brain tissue by transplanting the NSCs successfully cultured in vitro into the diseased brain. This article reviews the current treatment of CP and the feasibility and problems of NSCs transplantation for CP.
