Abstract: Objective To study the relationship between the expression level of phosphatase and tensin homologous gene 10q (PTEN) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and the occurrence and development of NSCLC. Methods The expressions of PTEN and CYCLIND1 in 58 cases of NSCLC and 10 cases of non-malignant lung lesions were detected by immunohistochemistry. The expressions of PTEN and CYCIND1 in 58 cases of NSCLC were statistically analyzed with age, sex, smoking status, lymph node metastasis and survival time. Results The positive rate of PTEN expression was 13/26 in lung squamous cell carcinoma and 15/32 in lung adenocarcinoma. The positive rate of middle and high differentiation group was 20/33 in lung cancer and 8/25 in low differentiation group. The positive rate of lymph node metastasis group was 7/32, and the positive rate of non-metastasis group was 21/26. At the same time, the expression of CYCLIND1 in NSCLC was detected. In 10 cases of non malignant lung lesions, PTEN expression was positive and CYCLIND1 was negative. Conclusion: The loss of expression of PTEN plays an important role in the occurrence, development and metastasis of NSCLC. The loss of expression of PTEN is related to the degree of differentiation (P<0.05), lymph node metastasis (P<0.05) and clinical stage (P<0.05) of NSCLC. PTEN and CYCLIND1 play an important role in the occurrence and development of NSCLC.
