Abstract: To report the therapeutic effect of nerve growth factor (NGF) on 31 cases of traumatic brain injury. NGF was extracted from the human fetal brain induced by water sac and made into 2ml ampoule injection for intramuscular injection. Results: The cure rate was 100%. With a short course of disease, light and medium-sized patients have the best curative effect. It was also observed that NGF had an effect on most neurological manifestations after traumatic brain injury, especially on diffuse brain injury. It is suggested that its therapeutic mechanism may be related to NGF promoting nerve fiber proliferation and preventing nerve necrosis after traumatic brain injury. The results show that NGF, the treatment of traumatic brain injury curative effect and found no adverse reactions, in patients with traumatic brain injury can be widely used.
