Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Tongdu Xingshen acupuncture on neurological development and repair in children with cerebral palsy. Methods 200 children with cerebral palsy were randomly divided into treatment group (100 cases) and control group (100 cases). The treatment group was treated with Tongdu Bushen group: 13 needles at the Du meridian point with Shenshu, Taixi, Yanglingquan, Zusanli, Sanyinjiao, Xingshen scalp needle, Shenting through the front item, front top through Baishe, Baishe through Naohu and Sisheng, and rehabilitation training. The control group only with rehabilitation training. 3 months a course of treatment. GMFM motor development assessment scale and Beijing GESELL neurodevelopment scale were used to evaluate the neurodevelopment and clinical rehabilitation efficacy of the two groups, and head CT/MRI was used to evaluate the cranial nerve repair before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was 87%, significantly higher than 55% of the control group. After treatment, the neurodevelopmental quotient (DQ) and GMFM in the acupuncture group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.01). The improvement rate and recovery rate of brain dysplasia in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion Tongdu Xingshen acupuncture can promote the rehabilitation of cerebral nerve and the reorganization of brain function in children with cerebral palsy. Acupuncture has a significant effect on the cognitive development of children while promoting the recovery of motor function. The long-term efficacy of acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training was significantly better than that of rehabilitation training alone.
