Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of acupuncture on brain tissue weight and NGF expression in neonatal rats with hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (HIBD) and its mechanism. Methods 85 7-day-old clean SD rats were selected. The left common carotid artery of the rats was ligated and recovered for 2 hours. The rats were placed in a transparent airtight container, and hypoxic gas was introduced into 37 ℃ constant temperature water at a speed of 1L/min. After 2.5 hours, the animals were taken out. The survivors were kept warm for 1 hour and then tested for behavior. Those who could not turn over, had abnormal balance or left-handed were regarded as successful models. A total of 72 rats were randomly divided into 3 groups, group A was HIBD acupuncture group I, group B was HIBD acupuncture group II, and group C was HIBD control group. Another sham operation group D group, 24 rats in each group. Young mice Baihui, affected temporal I, Neiguan, Quchi, Zusanli and Yongquan were selected. Acupuncture was started 24 hours after modeling in group A, only limb acupuncture points were injected in the first 7 days, head acupuncture points were added in the 8th day, acupuncture was started in group B on the 8th day after modeling, and head and body acupuncture were synchronized. Acupuncture was performed once/d, 20 days in group A and 13 days in group B. The intervention measures in sham operation group were the same as those in group A. The weight of brain tissue in each group was measured, and the expression of NGF in hippocampus of HIBD rats was determined by immunohistochemical method. The number of cells with positive expression of NGF was calculated by image analyzer under light microscope. Results ①The survival rate of animal models, the results of forelimb tactile stimulation test and brain weight changes in the acupuncture group were better than those in the control group (P<0.01)...
